Prepare your pooch for warmer weather at Cabo Dog!

Prepare your pet for the warmer months by planning for some of the things that might keep them from enjoying the beautiful weather.

While the weather is slowing heating up, that furry coat of hair that our dogs embrace during colder months becomes such a hassle! It also is trouble if you have a long haired pooch!

Shedding

Many dogs shed during springtime, it’s a transition that dogs undergo to “lighten up” for the warmer temperatures outside. If you have a large breed dog with thick hair, they might need more help than others.  Dog Massage Lotion. What a great idea and a real treat for him or her!!

Always remember to gently (and regularly) brush your dog so your dog’s skin is stimulated and that knots and tangles in the coat will be taken care of. Certain brushes can make the dog’s experience more enjoyable as well by creating a “massage-like” experience for them. You can even give your pup a massage to help his skin as well with

Dog Allergies

The curse of allergies doesn’t just strike humans; dogs can have allergies too. If you see your dog repeatedly sneezing, coughing or itching—it’s a possibility that you dog might have seasonal allergies. Check with a local veterinarian or animal medical specialist to see what some appropriate canine allergy medicines might help your pet enjoy the outdoors without the frustration of allergies. Don't forget to clean their little ears too with a Dog Ear Cleanser. Cleaning your pup's ears also helps get all the "gunk" out so there are no ear infections caused by the dog allergies. Also Cabo Dog Boutique has some great eco friendly dog products that will also help with allergies.

Toxins

It’s no secret that dogs are living “garbage disposals”—they’ll eat everything! Certain chemicals found in mulch for flowers beds or potting soil can be dangerous or even deadly for your pet. Ask your local hardware store where some pet-friendly soils and chemicals can be purchased.

By taking a quick few steps of action, you can make sure that the warmer outside spring and summer months are enjoyed by both you and your furry friend!

Do you know what a "Martingale Dog Collar" is? Are you sure?

Cabo Dog Boutique has searched for the perfect choices of Martingale dog collars. Owner, Christie makes sure that every single martingale dog collar that she carries is the best quality and best choice selection just for your dog!

We are sure you are saying, "that is great!" ~ but .. what is a Martingale dog collar exactly?

Have you ever had the problem of your dog slipping out of his or her dog collar??  Do they slip it right off their necks? Martingale Dog collars can help eliminate just that problem.

Gone are the days of choke chains. No more! For those dogs that are sneaky and risk takers - a martingale dog collar would be just perfect! A martingale dog collar consists of  two loops. The larger loop can be slipped right onto the pooch's neck , then the dog leash is attached to the smaller loop. When your little "heck raiser" attempts to pull and get the collar off, the tension on the dog leash pulls the small loop tighter and that makes the large loop tighter making it impossible for him to get the dog collar off.

Cabo Dog Boutique has a great variety of martingale collars just to suit your dog's personality.

Are you into the Moustache thing? Great!  Check out the Manly Moustache Martingale Dog Collar.  This great Martingale dog collar is a grey chevron design and has polished brass hardware. Perfect for your boy! This Martingale dog collar is not only eye-catching and trendy, but also reliably strong and safe for dogs of all breeds and sizes. The core of each collar is 1-inch wide (600-lb breaking strength) or 1.5-inch wide (900-lb. breaking strength) polypropelene webbing fully wrapped in high quality 100% cotton fabric that's interfaced for extra structure and durability so no irritating edges are exposed. This martingale dog collar is double-stitched with heavyweight monofilament thread that won't fray, and finished with welded steel hardware that's lightweight yet extremely strong. Your dog’s safety is of utmost importance but there’s nothing wrong with turning heads at the same time!  Maybe your little girl would like the Harlequin Martingale dog collar.

All of Cabo Dog Boutique's dog collars are lovely but the martingale dog collars are stunning, precious and adorable - all while providing you with the assurance that the dog collar is not going to slide off and that is great news for pet owners of little rebels.

Get Outside with your Furry Friend !

The weather is definitely warming up and it’s worth moving your exercise to the outdoors to soak it up! Opt for a quick afternoon job outside rather than running on a treadmill inside. Hop in a swimming pool for a couple of laps instead of cycling indoors and most importantly - take your little "tubby puppy" with you.

After all, it’s taken a long time for spring to come this year so it’s worth enjoying! All winter long your furry friend has been laying around and taking short walks due to the cold elements. Now, it's time to slim down... both of you!

Explore New Routes

You’ll have to take your dog outside for a potty break anyways, right? Why not freshen up the route you both take so that you aren’t begrudgingly walking along the same route you do every week and your dog isn’t smelling the same spots they always do. Shake things up a bit! Grab that dog leash and head out the door. Check out Cabo Dog Boutique's new Clip-on Dog Leash Accessory Bag. You can add your must have items and attach it all to the dog leash.

Find a local dog park or a trail outdoors, grab bottled water for you and your pet and hit the ground running …or walking! Or try a great travel dog bowl to take - every little athlete needs one. You can even take your dog to some MLB watching parties and enjoy our sports apparel for dogs.

Play Dog Games

The same tug-of-war game in the living room can get a bit old after awhile. Take your pet outside for a game of fetch with a new dog toy or try out a dog sport such as agility training or Frisbee catching. You’ll love the variety and your dog will love the new competitive challenge.

Train for a Race

It’s the perfect weather to hit the road, beach or grass and begin training for a small race like a 5K. There are plenty of opportunities to support a 5K in your community as many of them give their proceeds to local foundations and charities. A 5K is about the perfect distance for dogs to walk, sniff or spring alongside you. Don't forget your dog poop bags - in some places, it's the law.

Getting outside with your pet will help you both to be more healthy and build that “man’s best friend” bond between you. So get out there and enjoy the weather now before it gets too hot and lose those few pounds you both gained over the winter!

Cabo Dog Boutique has wonderful summer items for your dog such as: dog swimsuits, dog toys, dog treats, eco friendly dog items, and dog apparel.

Play Ball with Cabo Dog Boutique!

It's time for America's pastime, baseball!

A wild off-season led to some emerging powerhouses such as the Los Angeles Dodgers, Cincinnati Reds and others as they made bold off-season moves. The "apple of the eye" for many team owners was now-Dodger pitcher, Zack Greinke. In a game of cat-and-mouse, Greinke was courted by many teams and eventually found himself in the crosshairs with a big contact from a Dodgers team whose ownership was revamped with its purchase this summer.

The more exciting off-season stories seem to hover around the AL West. The headline story came from Josh Hamilton leaving the Texas Rangers for a $125 million contract offered by the division rival, The Lost Angeles Angels ofAnaheim. Insinuating that he didn't feel "wanted" enough, Hamilton drove to deeming the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex a "non baseball town" and provoking fans to launch initiatives to sit silent for Hamilton rather than boo him in his return to Texas.

The Houston Astros are the new members of the AL West where they are welcomed by the Mariners, Angels, Rangers and now hot Oakland A's, who made a late season push and beat the Rangers in a pigtail 1-game elimination playoff game.

With so much excitement surrounding MLB this year, it's easy to understand why many don't have a firm grasp on who will content for a championship this year. Will the Cardinals continue to make their mark as the most clutch team in baseball? Or will more traditional powerhouses like the New York Yankees or Boston Red Sox return to glory? Only time will tell.

When you begin your tailgating adventures and game watching parties - don't forget to make sure that your little ball chewer has some great MLB Dog Items. Cabo Dog Boutique has an excellent selection of baseball dog jerseys, MLB Dog Accessories, MLB Dog Toys and great team dog bowls. You cannot let your pup watch a game without a great Baseball Dog T-shirt on!  Shop Cabo Dog Boutique today and have all the MLB dog items you need to get crazy during those games!

Until then, play ball!
